Academic Rationale, Objectives and Participation
Indian cinema has occupied a distinctive place in the cultural imagination of Central Asia. From the circulation of Hindi films during the Soviet period to contemporary digital platforms, cinema has helped shape public perceptions of India, encouraged linguistic and artistic exchange, and created enduring emotional connections across borders. The conference examines this shared history while opening new interdisciplinary conversations on cinema, identity, diplomacy, translation, media and cultural memory.
To examine the historical reception and circulation of Indian cinema in Central Asia.
To analyse cinema as an instrument of cultural exchange, soft power and cultural diplomacy.
To explore questions of identity, diaspora, translation, dubbing, subtitling and public reception.

Participation is online. Papers may be presented in Hindi or English. Acceptance of an abstract is subject to academic review and confirmation by the conference organizers.
CALL FOR PAPERS
Indicative Themes and Submission Requirements
Original research papers, case studies, review articles and project reports are invited from India and abroad. Contributions should be relevant to the broad conference theme and may use historical, literary, cultural, sociological, linguistic, political, film-studies or interdisciplinary approaches.
Abstract and paper may be submitted in Hindi or English.
The abstract should clearly state the title, research objective, method/approach and key argument, along with the author's name, designation, institution, email and mobile number.
The paper must be original and must follow accepted academic citation and referencing practices.
The organizing committee may request revision, clarification or supporting information during review.

SUBMISSION AND FORMATTING GUIDELINES
English and Hindi Manuscripts
Submit the abstract and full paper as editable Microsoft Word (.docx) files; a PDF copy may additionally be attached for reference.
Use Unicode fonts only. Do not submit Hindi text typed in legacy/non-Unicode fonts such as Krutidev or Chanakya.
File names: SURNAME_Abstract_Language.docx and SURNAME_FullPaper_Language.docx (example: MISHRA_Abstract_Hindi.docx).
